How I REALLY Made my First $100k The Dirty Truth.
2022 marked a significant milestone in my company – earning my first $100K in about 100 days.
Often, we hear stories about the first million or hitting a $10K month, but my journey was about setting a realistic goal at a time, focusing on $100K.
For those of us accustomed to seeing less in our accounts, even imagining earning $100K can be daunting. It was a mental barrier I faced. I realized that never having seen that amount in my bank account limited my aspirations at first. It's a common challenge, and I want to share how breaking through this mental block not only helped me reach my goal but 4X my revenue my first year and set me up for future successes.
The Power of Books:
In sharing my journey, I must admit to a sense of vulnerability. While I didn't follow the traditional academic route and earn a college degree, my education came through diverse experiences. I honed my culinary skills in Europe, supporting my ex-husband's military career, which was a learning journey in itself. As a single mother, further formal education was a challenge, overshadowed by the pressing need to protect my child and myself in a domestic violence situation.
In these moments, books became my sanctuary. Immersing myself in self-help literature was transformative, guiding me toward the financial freedom I earnestly sought. This unconventional path was not just about acquiring knowledge; it was a profound journey of self-discovery and empowerment.
The ONE book that made me believe I could do it was $100M Offers by Alex Hormozi. From here, I stayed close to his content and tweeted him to death until he finally responded LOL.
Auditing My Circle of Influence: Ever felt watched by those who never intend to help you rise? I've been there. Sharing my dreams with the wrong people left them as just that - dreams. It felt like being a spider trapped in its own web. So, I isolated myself, worked in solitude, and emerged transformed. The more I succeeded, the more 'friends' I lost, but it was a necessary shedding of the old version of me who was only a dreamer.
You are the company you keep.
Rebranding Myself: Determined to stand out, I created an avatar of myself, a digital alter-ego that caught everyone's attention. I immersed myself in the worlds of those I admired, absorbing their strategies and making them my own. I created a dedicated email account specifically for subscribing to newsletters from industry leaders. This approach allowed me to immerse myself in their world, studying and understanding their communication styles, rhythms, and content strategies. By closely observing and absorbing these insights, I was able to adapt and incorporate similar strategies into my own business, tailoring them to fit my unique brand and objectives.
My WHY: I recall those endless days of driving 45 minutes only to stand and cook for 16 hours straight, all for a mere $150. This harsh reality propelled me to seek knowledge and apply it effectively.
Working tirelessly from home, I dedicated the same long hours to meticulously crafting and adapting content strategies gleaned from my network. Despite initial fears and uncertainty about my financial stability, especially after unexpectedly losing my job, I persisted.
For three months since January, I had been consistently creating content while still employed. However, just 15 days after losing my job unexpectedly, I found myself at a crossroads, disillusioned with traditional employment and facing the stark reality of potentially being unable to meet my $2,000 rent.
Then, unexpectedly, an opportunity arrived in my inbox: a message from a seemingly ordinary individual from Idaho, discovered through Twitter, wanting to discuss Google Ads. Despite his modest online presence, our conversation led to an immediate request for a proposal. I took on two significant accounts from him, proposing a monthly fee of $11,000. To my surprise, he readily accepted without hesitation, a clear indication that my services were underpriced. But as I sat there I did not care, I now had my rent money for the next 6 months.
Since that pivotal encounter, my agency had grown exponentially, welcoming 17 more clients and evolving into a seven-figure enterprise. We refined our brand and expanded our services beyond Google Ads, always ensuring we value our work appropriately. My journey now changed, and I left my Ad Agency after 2.5 years to pursue my first brand a floral company which inspires me to mentor others, sharing the insights and strategies that fueled my growth from those early days and applying it in real time.
